Concerto Competition

In the fall of each year, CSOYO Symphony Orchestra members have an opportunity to audition for the concerto competition. Students must have played in the CSOYO Symphony or Philharmonic for the entire season preceding the one in which they wish to audition for the Concerto Competition. Tuition must be paid in full before auditions. Students must audition on the instrument that they play in the CSOYO and must audition on the piece of music that they will perform (if selected as a winner). High school graduates are not eligible to audition for the Concerto Competition. The winner will be featured during the current concert season at one of the CSOYO season concerts, and possibly in performances with the CSO Orchestra. The runner-up will be featured during the current concert season on one of the CSOYO season concerts. Students can only be a winner and a runner-up one time, whether performing as an individual or in an ensemble. Judges reserve the right not to declare a winner or runner-up if no one is qualified. Concert dress as outlined in the Dress Code will be required for performances.
